John's Favorite Peanut Butter Cookies

I've been making these Vegan With a Vengeance cookies for a while now, but haven't shown in a movie how I do it. So, I decided to take the opportunity while I baked John some cookies earlier this week. They really don't take much time at all to make, including the baking. What's more, they're tasty and reasonably healthy.

I only made two changes to Isa's original recipe, and those were 1. agave for sugar, and 2. no arrowroot/cornstarch.

Otherwise, I really don't change the recipe except for the lower oven temperature. Here's a short film that shows my baking process.

What are your favorite peanut butter cookies?

HI! This is Isa, I 'm at my mom's googling myself. It's pathetic, I know. I just wanted to thank you for posting this because lots of people have problems with this recipe. And now I have video proof that it does work! So thanks!

Hi Isa!

It is truly an honor to have the author herself pay a visit. For those of you who don't know, Isa Chandra Moskowitz also published another winner of a cookbook, Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World with Terry Hope Romero. Those two brilliant vegan cooks even included an agave nectar cupcake recipe! I've tried it -- it's fabulous.

I plan to tinker with it again soon because there's a party coming up to which I'd like to bring lovely cupcakes.

Anyway, Isa, not only does the recipe work, but they're really delicious. It also works if you cut the oil by a third and/or cut the amount of agave nectar.

One of the top reasons why I love the recipes Isa develops is that they are so very flexible. And, if you have a question and email her, she really answers!

Thanks again for stopping by, even if it was purely by googlian chance. And, there's nothing wrong with googling yourself. I do it periodically to find that the other Debra Schiff, in Washington, D.C. (the one involved in the Clinton scandal), still comes up above my stuff. :( Oh well.

How much agave did you use?

Hi My,

Thanks for visiting!

I used 3/4 cup of agave nectar.

I loved the video! hi, I'm here from the PPK. I will definitely try to make them with agave instead of sugar the way you did: I'm always thrilled to find ways to cut down on more traditional [whatever that means] sugar.
